New Year reflection

This Year....
Here we are again, the end of another year. Reading my post last year, 2006 has pretty much been like 2005 on many fronts. As this is a public post, there's many things I can't go into. Some of you will know more things then others, but lets see what can be covered. cut for length )

Thank you for reading. All comments will be screened, and anonymous comments are disabled (sorry to those of you sent here via my blog on MySpace .. you can comment on there though).

Finally, I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. I hope 2007 is good for you all.

To say that's been an emotional few hours is a slight understatement!! I guess no matter how much you know about a situation, no matter how much you prepare yourself .. to see it written in words (or as good as) can still knock you for six! I just want to say a huge thank you to Dee and David for the chats, I know you've both got things in your own lives to deal with right now but it meant alot for you both to be there.

Anyways, I kinda did a CD earlier this afternoon for a certain someone. I've been listening to it upstairs to make sure it's copied ok. One of the tracks on it is Gloria Estefan's track Always Tomorrow. It's the first time I've sat down and listened to it properly in a few years, but the lyrics are really inspirational. I guess after everything that's happened in my life over the past couple of years, I'm seeing it in a different light.

It has to be said, he's been one of my favourite comedians (along with Billy Pearce) for as long as I can remember. All I have to do is look at him and I crack up laughing.

Anyways, last night I started to watch his Twin Squeaks video (think it was released about 97 time) and I finished watching it today. He tends to do a song on his tours, some aren't meant to be funny but he always does something to make them funny. On this one, his does a song about a small voice talking to him. In a way, in struck a chord with me this time so I've done my best to take down the lyrics to post. So here they are... )

Amused (Tony)
Today has been strange to say the least!! Don't really know why either, it just feels that way.

Been for a couple of walks, mainly to keep my sugar levels down. On my second walk I was listening to Ches and yet again trying not to crack up laughing when listening to Porn Again!! The lyrics are brilliant and the song as a whole isn't something you'd expect Ches to write.

This afternoon I tried my best to find my bedroom, but it still looks like a bomb site. Think I really need to go and have another go at it.

It's been a bit quiet around here lately, I know it's Thanksgiving on the other side of the pond but it's quiet in general. Hugs to those who need it and I look forward to catching up with people soon.

Been meaning to post the lyrics to this song for ages. Actually mentioned it to him when I met him at the dinner and he said he wrote it after a bad break up. I wasn't able to listen to it for a long time without crying.

Lyrics )

Me and Char first heard the song when we were on the coach back south alst November and we were almost in tears. It's one of the most heartfelt songs I've ever heard.
